According to Highlights of the Youth Internet Safety Survey conducted by the U.S. Department of Justice “one in five children (10 to 17 years old) receive unwanted sexual solicitations online.”

R.A.D. classes for Teens are for young women 14- 18 years of age. Classes are given at different locations in your community. Contact us for more information.

The program offers realistic self-defense tactics and techniques suitable for women of all ages and abilities. The R.A.D. System is a comprehensive, women-only course that begins with awareness, prevention, risk reduction and risk avoidance, while progressing on to the basics of hands-on defense training. The classes are reinforced with topics on Internet chatting/blogging, bullies, peer pressure.

The course is taught in 4 sessions of 4 hrs each (total 16hrs.) The suggested schedule is Saturday/Sunday and Saturday/Sunday. On the last day of the course there is an optional simulation, where women can test the techniques learned.

R.A.D. Curriculum topics include:

  • Risk Reduction Strategies
  • Verbal and Physical Resistance
  • Internet Blogging/Chatting/Bullying
  • Invasion of Privacy
  • Drugs
  • Dating
The cost of this class is $40. Fees will cover material used in class and/or fees ELLA pays to offer these classes to the public. Scholarships are available. Please contact us for more information.

The fee is only for the first class. RAD graduates can attend the same class again at no cost.
